The Girl in a Bubble
Written & Directed by Chris Harris. Shot on film, this delightfully bonkers cartoon-esque tale tips its hat cheekily to the kitchen sink dramas of the 70’s. Giving a final high kick to one of the greatest Broadway musicals every written. Annette Badland & Jacqueline King chew up the scenery and acclaimed Japanese actor Meg Kubota cheekily steels all her scenes. Bubble opened the 2014 Santa Monica Independent Film Festival & played as part of the 2014 Williamsburg Independent Film Festival in New York.

Chris is a photographer of people. Enamoured and inspired by the greats; Mapplethorpe, Newton, Penn, Ritts and Weston, he thrives on the challenge of creating something that could one day emulate their genius. He resists any expectation to 'get a style' preferring to approach each shoot with the energy and excitement of it being his first time. He is focused on his subject and team, taking them skilfully through the unknown adventure ahead. It is a triumvirate collaboration between photographer, subject and camera.
Coming from a film background Chris Ioves telling stories. He started with features, then shorts before his obsession with the single image. The fun is capturing the inner beauty, scratching at the façade to find a connection and truth. And often looking for the playful, cheeky irreverence amongst it all.
Chris trained in Stage Management and Theatre Design and spent over twelve years as a Talent Agent. Representing internationally known actors including; Jane Asher, Berenice Bejo, Nicolaj Coster-Waldau, Michelle Fairley, Rupert Grint and Tim Pigott Smith.
Chris was Associate Producer on the Feature Film Dreaming of Joseph Lees with Rupert Graves & Samantha Morton (winning Best Actress at The Evening Standard Film Awards.) Executive Producer on the Feature Film Relative Values with Julie Andrews & Colin Firth. UK Casting Consultant on the Feature Film Outcast with Nicolas Cage & Hayden Christensen, Casting Director on the Independent Feature films; Slaughter & Perkins 14 and UK Casting Director on the US TV movie HellHounds for director Ricky Schroder.
‘His short film Girl in A Bubble is an often overlooked work of pure short film excellence’ says Jesse Porter, age 6.
